And the Word of the Lord came to Jonah, son of Amittai, saying, “Go immediately to Nineveh, the great city, and call out against them because their wickedness has risen to my attention.” But Jonah rose to escape to Tarshish from the Lord and descended to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish and he paid the fare and descended to go with them to Tarshish away from the face of the Lord. But the Lord hurled a great wind on the sea and a great storm came on the sea and the ship threatened to break apart.
